Schroeder Wedding

I recently had the honor of shooting my first wedding for a family friend, Lona, and her new husband, Doug. Before the wedding, Lona and I met to go over the timeline of the day and review what she wanted for her big day. They chose the White River Yacht Club as their location, and planned to have a outdoor ceremony followed by a boat ride on the River with some family photos. After that- dinner, speeches, and celebrating the newly married couple! For an event like this, I like to have my second shooter, Bryce, come along to ensure we don’t miss any of those special moments.

While the guests arrived, I wandered capturing candid photos and the details of their decorations for the event. There were so many more photos included in the client’s gallery, but these are the highlights.

Their children each added their own special touch to walking down the aisle- which made for some super fun shots. Having my second shooter there was especially helpful for photos like these, as we could get multiple angles of the festivities.

Finally the big moment! I was able to capture some gorgeous shots of the two sharing their first kiss as a married couple and celebrating on their way down the aisle. I love that you can see all that joy in these photos.

Like planned, we took a boat ride on the river afterwards for the Schroeder family to have a celebratory drink and relax together for a quick moment. We were able to grab some fun family photos of the 5 of them with the river in the background.

The Schroeders came back to join their guests for a wonderful meal while Bryce and I were able to grab some candid photos. The venue was perfect to have some natural lighting shining in on the event while speeches were given. We grabbed some last few shots of the party starting, and I made my way home to edit! I think these photos turned out beautifully, and I’m so thankful I got the opportunity to try a different type of photography!
