Madi’s Maternity Shoot

My good friend from college, Madi, reached out recently to let me that she is expecting (!!!!!) and was hoping I’d be willing to do some maternity photos for her. I was honored, and we set up a Pinterest board for inspiration and a date. Because I know Madi well, we decided to just take some photos in my home.

Madi wanted a cozy background, so we took some photos in the bedroom. I already had some hanging fairy lights set up in there, and there was a window next to where we were shooting to give off natural lighting. We threw a neutral white comforter down and even tacked some ultrasound photos up on the wall in the back. I angled Madi towards the window for most of these shots, which I think highlighted her well. These are some of my favorite photos.

We door-dashed some flowers last-minute to use as a prop, so we had to include those in some pics. Prior to the shoot I had also prepared my mini backdrop setup which turned out great for this type of photography. Madi and her bump were able to be the focus the whole time.

Madi chose this gorgeous black dress to show off her belly in, so we stuck to a white backdrop so she’d pop out against it. It was so special being able to do these photos for Madi and I’m so excited to see her become the best Mom.
