Alexia + David’s Maternity Session

Recently I received an inquiry regarding maternity photos through my website from Alexia, an expecting mother looking to coordinate a shoot. She and her husband, David, were looking to get some natural, outdoor photos to celebrate their pregnancy. We had originally planned to take pictures at Holcomb Gardens, but after reviewing Alexia’s Pinterest board for the shoot I noticed she had saved more photos with natural backgrounds. I recommended one of my favorite places to shoot- Flat Fork Creek Park, and we scheduled a date in early July. We met in the evening for better lighting/shadows, which I think worked out beautifully in the end. Alexia started out in a relaxed fit to show off her belly and we took advantage of the giant hill at Flat Fork for some cute shots.

Alexia came prepared with an outfit change in all pink to match David, in recognition of their baby girl on the way. I personally love the look of the pink fits against the overgrown grass and wildflowers.

Throughout the shoot, I asked the couple about their background and how they fell in love. They shared how excited they are to start their own family together and welcome their baby. It made it all the more meaningful to capture this special time for them through photos.
